Disclosure Tools for Small Businesses

Making sustainability disclosures easy, fast, and inexpensive so small companies can get on with their business.

Sustainability is important for all companies and pursuing it should not be prohibitively expensive or time consuming.

Background: Companies are being asked what they are doing around “Sustainability” more with every passing week. Unless the business can afford high priced consultants, dedicate internal personnel to figuring it all out, and/or implementing expensive enterprise-wide software, the answer is most often “nothing.”

Solution: Sustainability Self Disclosure is here to change that with small steps forward. You can’t improve what you don’t measure, and this tool allows businesses to perform their self assessments inexpensively in less than 30 minutes.

Here is how it works: After answering some basic questions about your industry and sub-industry, the algorithm presents you with relevant sustainability disclosure topics as identified in commonly used global sustainability standards. For each relevant disclosure topic, the algorithm presents a series of questions and provides template responses that can be tailored to your specific company. When you’re done, you press “Finish” and it captures all your responses in a PDF report you can download. Then you can use it with customers, insurers, lenders, investors, and anyone else who asks.

Testimonials

“I manage 14 employees with 4 trucks across 3 counties. Sustainability was never something I considered for my business until my insurance broker asked for a disclosure statement with our annual policy renewal. Sustainability Self Disclosure allowed me to compile a professional disclosure statement in under an hour.”

“I didn’t want to spend a lot of time on this but I needed to do it to satisfy a municipal customer. I have to admit this was really simple and cost next to nothing. You should use this review on your website.”

“We’ve wanted to take sustainability more seriously in our company for a while now but it felt like a giant project with a big price tag. This tool helped us organize and document what we are doing today and what we’re planning on doing in the next year. We have a long way to go but this allowed us to start the process.”
